Welcome to our review of veteran UK Producer/Artist Configa's debut album with SlamJamz Records.
We introduce to you "#CV1" i.e. the "Configaration Volume 1" album.
This release is the culmination of Configa's twenty plus years of dedication to his craft and his ongoing battle to preserve & elevate hip-hop culture in these dire times of much needed awareness. Respect is certainly due to Configa for his passionate purpose & the dreams that he hasn't let go unrealized.
Throughout the entire album, Mr. Chuck D & other contributing artists let it be known that Configa's time for recognition is well overdue. A sublimely unique, untethered and emotion invoking affair from start to end, "Configaration Volume 1" will stand out, going forwards, among the greatest albums of recent times in the eyes of many.
As Mr. Chuck D quotes KRS One in the second interlude, "You Must Learn".
The first full length music video released from this album is a remix from the Hastility H1 album released August 29th, 2016.

This isn't your typical label debut, there isn't a "tried and tested" tired old format here. Four of his raw instrumentals are showcased along with two remixes; "Mind Control" mentioned above & "Yes Yes Y'all" by Grand Surgeon x Spoonie Gee.
Great versatility is shown by Configa with the direction of featured artists ranging from female R&B artist Sulpacio Jones to the UK's Si Phili, Fdot1 and Serocee representing on a dancehall tip. New York's legendary Craig G, is featured on "From The Soul"; and Massachusettes' underground sensation Reks, features on "I Am The Truth". Not to mention two amazing tracks from the dearly departed John Vietnam & the main attraction sure to captivate most; "Make Em' Pay" with an exclusive verse from the late, great Sean Price & Green Tank.

This very diverse & free-flowing album is a fresh direction from Configa compared to his usual strict-themed style displayed in recent releases. This is a must have for any hardcore enthusiasts collection or a dream come true for a loved ones Christmas morning. Available from all good digital outlets.

Welcome to the "Accusations Of Treachery" album, presented by Configaration Record's artist Ravage. The former Sony Records signee subliminally reveals why he's now signed to C.E.O/Producer Configa's label using only the album as his explanation. Cut from the same flesh, yet vastly unique as brothers are, there's no argument UK artist Ravage belongs in his new home. Configa's last album release "Hastility (H1)" echos the same movement embodied within this album. It's "Hastility"..... It's "Accusations Of Treachery".....roll it all together uphill combined with Configa's recent signing to Chuck D's label SlamJamz Records as a producer....& = Public Enemy?!?!? My math is terrible, do your own configarations.
All cards on the table, MC Ravage kills these 10 tracks softly in his own distinct way, his controversial colors blending perfectly with Tone Jonez's idiosyncratic production. Both flavors are potent enough to distract you from one another. If you have trouble focusing on both at the same time, just take those tracks back to the beginning and start again if you miss a beat or syllable like I did.
Initially, I was and still am quite enamored/overwhelmed by the way in which Ravage was driven to construct this album. It's a uniquely blended arrangement with his frustrations seeping out on to the tracks. Fear of failure as a father, memories of personal grief, record label politics, the mistreatment of black people and relationship heartbreak are just some of the issues eloquently raised within his lyrics.
"Some Of Us Stay Kids, Some Of Us Will Grow...While Some Remain Brainless"
The first promo track for this album is "Memories Of You"
Take a change of pace... listen to second promo track "Hot Potataz"
The two tracks above are definitely some of the hottest tracks on this album but if I have to choose I would say it's track #6 "I'm Scared". Come to your own conclusions as to why I relate to this track so much.
I rate this album a 10/10 in a category of it's own. It's music to open your mind, music to inspire and promote free thought. The teachings and hallmarks of classic Golden-Era hip-hop are etched within this album. This is "Accusations Of Treachery" there is only one real power to fear and his name is God, not a corporation.
Stay tuned for our upcoming interview with hip-hop supremo, Configa.
