A new face emerged from the Tampa Bay area of Florida by the name of Rotten Steve August 12th, 2018. After holding back his works from the public for many years Rotten Steve finally released his first project, the 12 track album titled Impulse .
Usually I'm not one to throw around similarities or comparisons, but if I had to for the sake of the viewers & due to the fact that Rotten Steve is brand new to the scene of hip-hop, I'd say Rotten Steve is a conscious acidic fusion between Lil Dicky, Eminem, Childish Gambino & Chance The Rapper with more than just a twist. Similarities & comparisons show no justice for the works of this amazing album.
Only briefly covering the tracks that stood out the most to us on this aesthetically pleasing project, here we go.
Released today, September 8th, 2018 Rotten Steve published his first official music video from this album. The style & quality of this track alone speaks volumes but when combined with the fact that this is his first official music video & first project release to date...... That's Discipline.
Track #7 -
Watch Discipline (Official Music Video)
In this generation of hip-hop there's such a thick saturation of carbon copy artists with little to no lyrical content. Paying homage to the founders, Rotten Steve emphasizes the need for originality while sticking to the roots of the culture that is hip-hop.
There He Goes again - Track #2
On track #3 Rotten Steve expresses the importance of the memories we have with our loved ones & all of life's events that helped form us into who we are today.
I wish I had a Collage of every memory to look back on.
Track #5 is a story we all know too well, a story of having hope in failed relationships, of hanging on & doing your best to work out all the kinks when we should've known better.
So I sent in Probes to try to get you....
I gotta let you go.
The only track on the album with an artist feature is track #8. A track with political views featuring insane bars from hip-hop artist & producer Vpollo Rockin. Vpollo Rockin also mixed & mastered the entire album & produced every track besides Discipline, You Can't & Waiting. I see Right Thru, you don't even want the truth.
Right Thru ft Vpollo Rockin
Every track on this album illuminates Rotten Steve's highly advanced lyrical abilities. Track #11's message affirms just this.
I ain't even aim for the stars. I'm patient because I know I'm
Watchin Em Fall
There isn't a single weak link on this entire album. I wanted to cover every track in this review but there isn't much to say about some of my favorites from this project such as Come Get Me, which speaks for itself.
This is a must have or at least a must for your playlist. With this level of talent showcased on Rotten Steve's first project release, I can't wait to see what he busts out with next. Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with this amazing artist & be sure to follow Rotten Steve in links listed below.
London hip-hop artist Detin8 released his first full album today titled Tek.Lun; paying well warranted homage to the producer of this project, Tek.Lun.
Like many legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Detin8 has been creating music since he was a child & many also believe he will be just as famous.
Read our album review below & stay tuned for our exclusive interview with this very interesting & inspirational artist.
This album's style of production is unlike any other you have or will hear. Although similar & very closely related to boom bap in lyricism & production, this album stands alone.
Without order, here's 6 of the tracks we felt stood out & needed some type of coverage on this 19 track album review.
This is All That, track #13. Using samplings of the theme song from the hit 90's Nickelodeon television show All That, Detin8 & producer Tek.Lun tell it how it is.
She's the one, just not the one for you.... That's that Game Of Love messin' with your head again;track #16.
Are you cool?..... Are you feelin' it? Take off in a Flash to a place you've never been with track #6.
We all need some help in this cold & ever worsening world of ours. We're in dire need of some change. Let Us Pray; track #8.
What's that? Just Shush... it's track #17 featuring Patent
No debate needed, Victory is all I see; track #19 featuring Hooks & Blak Ash
No gas required, purchase now or throw this album on your wish list. Every single second is intriguing & listening just once isn't enough to catch all the lyricism or capture the places you're taken. Music is a drug & this one is pure. Choosing which tracks to spotlight in this review was like choosing which child to send to college on a limited budget; I loved every track.
This product is available for purchase in most major digital media outlets.
Pittsburgh boom bap hip-hop producer & artist Gneticz dropped his latest project today, 6-29-18 & dub the name... it is Insane.
Gneticz has been active in the hip-hop game for bout 26 years now according to an interview back in 2006 & it shows as you'll hear in this EP & his previous projects.
Without spoiling your journey, here we go only briefly touching 4/7 of these tracks.
6-12-18, Gneticz released the first & only single Save The World featuring Detin8 & Gemstone off this project as promo. In tune with ol' school/true school boom bap production & loyal to the culture, this project speaks for itself.
Get up ya seat & move ya ugly feet... Swing dem Axes off the Henny in track #4 featuring Nabri Savior & 4th Disciple.
Track #5, there's nothing to explain, it's all in the name, this track is Insane.
No FM frequency will ever transmit this.....reppin' the underground it's track #6, Fuck The Radio ft. Detin8.
Wrappin' it up......There's not a weak joint on this entire EP. If you end up catching any sour feelings it will only be cause this isn't a full 18 track album. Overall production & lyricism quite amazing & consistent through entire project. If I had to pick my favorite track it would have to be Save The World, but it all bangs.
Stamp the pedigree papers..... it's just DNA with strong Gneticz.
You can purchase this project from iTunes.

Welcome to our review of "R 2.0 Let's Continue" album, released 8-14-17 by Detroit hip-hop artist Elohin.
If you're looking for the TRUTH, there might be a reason you've landed on this review. No gassing, No lie. It's time to let the cat out the bag, open the curtains. Elohin is on a mission to make a drastic change in this world for the better & he's lit up with the Holy Spirit.
There's so much heart bled passionate creativity prophetically focused on these already well recognized producer's dope instrumentals; there's no way to call this project anything less than legendary.
Every single track is outstanding, but we're only going to cover the ones that struck us hardest.
Track 2, "Miss America" featuring Reggie Williams is a direct outcry for our nation to wake up, heartfelt loving concerns regarding our nation's present & near future's grim outlook.
On a softer note, track 4 is this albums lead single "Lost In You" featuring Ashley Garza. An expression of love….
Watch "Lost In You"
Elohin Ft. Ashley Garza
The maniacally coldhearted, murderous & unforgiving jungle's many of us call home is the scene of the nightmare that is track 8, "When The Smoke Clears" featuring Corey Breeze & Jess Aleakatino.
Focus your eyes on life, focus on what could have been, what still can be. Yeah.... Don't get it twisted, Christ is coming back. When he does come back you better hope you aint in bed with the world. Jesus is Lord... Track 12 ..... Isn't He good "Enough" featuring Jenee Monica.
